Go Sandakphu
Posted on November, 2010

We went to Sandakphu in December 2009 and that was one of the memorable trips in my life. The Sandakphu Ridge trek is one of the best treks in the Sikkim Himalayas and every year lot of enthusiast travelers love to trek on this route. The trek is famous for its views of the greater Himalayan Range and I tell you that the range once seen it is just awesome and difficult to keep your eyes apart. Starting from Darjeeling or Manebhanjan, the trek runs through the border of India and Nepal and merges into the southern ridge of Kanchenjunga. From Darjeeling hills where tea gardens stretch as far as our eye can see to Sikkim, an ancient Himalayan kingdom of Tibetan culture, this wonderful trek offers breath-taking views that is just stunning. This Trek is one of the rare spots on earth where the view embraces five summits. You will find rhododendron forests aside the hills and that is nice to watch. The visit of the main Sikkim monasteries offers a touch of culture and really makes this journey a rare venture and one of the memorable tours.
