Sometimes alcohol becomes such a necessity that leaving it becomes very tough. And finally when someone wants to leave it for good, he or she has to go through a process which is very long.
These people will never think that alcohol has any negative impact on them and they continue to drink more. If rehabilitation cannot be done to them, then they will finally end up in having cirrhosis of liver or liver cancer.
Now in these cases, the addict is the one who will decide whether he wants to recover or not. If he does not want to recover, then no therapy can help him. The process is endless in that case. If the addict wants to recover, it will take time, but he may be completely back to his normal social life in four to five years.
These people also should never quit without any medical assistance. Sometimes withdrawal may result in death. Hallucination and automatic instability are also very common for these cases. So medication is a must if the health is to be maintained.
But if correct medication is given and everything is maintained well, then in about five years or so, the addict will be free from his addictions.

We often do not understand the serious implication of alcohol addiction. To detoxify those harmful effects such long term rehab programs are required. For drug addiction too we have special rehab facilities. A patient with methamphetamine addiction problem needs to be admitted to a methamphetamine rehab.

The main problem
The main problem with addiction patients is that they become helpless; they simply can not get rid of the substance, whether it is alcohol or drugs. They need special treatment centers. These centers like alcohol rehabs or drug rehab centers have special treatment facility that helps patients find the cure they need.

If you can control
If you can control your alcohol consumption, then you could save yourself from alcohol addiction. For alcohol addicts the only place for cure is an alcohol rehab. Alcohol addiction can seriously damage your health. So it is better to stay within limits.

This is absolutely true
This is absolutely true that the patient must strive to get better. Without his co operation, proper treatment could be impossible. In a good rehab like Florida Rehab advance treatment would be available; the patient must have the determination to get better.
